On tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy chunks of lace form randomly around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of roasty malt, fruit jam/jelly, wood, and grape-like aromas. Taste is of roasty malt, cocoa, wood, and whiskey. There is an alcohol kick on the finish with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer but interesting in that the aroma displays more pinot barrel characteristics while the taste displays more of the whiskey barrel.
