Malty and chocolaty. More like a stout. Very good Ecuadorean beer where they are known for their cacao.

The Pacha black IPA is one lf the best beers brewed in Ecuador in any style. Craft brewers in Ecuador have struggled to import ingredients and make their beers approach international a standards. Sabai is an exception. On a visit to the brewery, their brewer told me he trained in Eugene, hops are imported from Oregon, and malts are imported from Germany. The pacha black IPA is their finest year round beer. Its dark and complex, but also crisp and not heavy. Doesn't taste anything close to its 10% abv. Sabai black IPA is the leading contender for the best beer in Ecuador (as of may 2018).
