Modern Tradition is one of our favorites and this batch is no exception. We fermented and aged this one in a new Sauvignon Blanc barrel for an extended period and then dry-hopped it with Callista, Grungeist, and Hallertau Blanc.

Murky bright yellow body, full white head and tons of lacing. Obviously a more wine forward version of modern tradition, but it is so well done. The white wine and bright oak bring out the citrus even more, now with more of a grapefruit emphasis with the lemon, a touch of white grape, and flowers, before a muskier funk sets in beautiful. Somewhat juicy and sour upfront but dries out quickly through the sip, oak and vinous texture gentle are made known, elevated character all together. This is excellent, perhaps best new AT this year

Enjoyed previously on draft, reviewing from a 500 mL bottle poured to a snifter. Full finger of head over light straw, with plenty of retained lacing. Lots of barrel character on the nose, which is very bright with lemon verbena, pineapple, straw, and honeysuckle. Light florals on the palate along with white peach, pear, and moderate minerality. Really a delight, one of my favorites from Afterthought; I will definitely get a few more bottles the next time I'm there.
