Our first release in a new line of mead barrel-aged beers, this one is a blonde saison that was fermented and then aged in an unfruited Pips mead barrel that housed bourbon prior to mead.

Clear golden body with a full white head and spotted lacing. Aromas of honey, flowers, big, orange almost creamsicle, peach, and vanilla accented oak. Taste has wild honey, flowers, hint of grass, melon and big orange. Feel is light, a touch watery for AT before the yeast and hop finish cascade in, playfully sour, finish is pale. Playful and fun

500 mL bottle. Moderate pour yields a healthy amount of head over a cloudy golden-orange base. Bright lemon crispness, satsuma, light hay on the nose, tart citrus on the front palate with some strong mead character on the side of the tongue. More honey near the finish, but it never overtakes the bright acidity of the base beer. Very nicely balanced.

Had this on draft 9/29/22 @ the Hopleaf.
Mostly opaque orange appearance.
Bright white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Honey, lemon spritz & faint funk notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Tart lemon, mild honey & faint, pleasant funk. Tasty!
