Notes: Inspired by JJ Grey’s Grandfathers morning coffee request of “Cream but Nare Sugar,” we created a Belgian style brown ale with hints of Chocolate, Coffee and Vanilla Sweet Cream but Nare Sugar.

Poured out of a 12 oz can into a pint glass.

A – Pours out a deep brown with a massive 3 fingers of tan head that settles down and leaves nice lacing all down the glass.

S – Roasty malts with a good nose full of brown sugar and molasses.

T – Starts out with a brown sugar flavor although it is fairly light and wont put off those who don’t like sweet brews. Molasses, caramel, nutmeg and roasted malts. Definitely runs along the taste of a classic brown but with a touch more sweet than normal. Taste a bit of vanilla flavor at the end.

M – Medium bodied with a touch of creaminess. Appropriate light carbonation.

O – Solid brown with just a touch of sweetness in the flavor to make it stand out a bit from your run of the mill browns. I really didn’t taste the alcohol much. Solid brew. Would certainly have another.

A smooth, nutty brown that belies the name, "Nare Sugar." The recipe was built through JJ Grey, front man for the Florida band Mofro.

The Creamy head is in line with all beers brewed with lactose. It has a nice nose gives classic brown ale notes, but the highlights are the mouth feel and finish. A big beer that maybe shouldn't start your afternoon of power drinking, but it makes a strong case to be the perfect last brew of the evening (maybe even over some vanilla ice cream).

This collaboration beer between Rock Brothers Brewing, Cigar City (Tampa, FL) and Green Bench (St. Pete, FL) is a charity beer - a portion of proceeds go to the Snook & Gamefish Foundation, who work towards a better fishing future.

On tap at Bx Beer Depot. Served in a pint glass.

Appearance - Brown body with a big cream head. Never goes away. Solid pillow of foam.

Smell - Brown sugar and tons of caramel. Some cinnamon.

Taste - Very sweet. Caramel and spice. Again with a strong brown sugar flavor. Slightly nutty. Spicy cinnamon finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium heavy. Too sweet.

Overall - Meh. Too sweet.
