I'm a 311 junkie, but I'll try to remain partial and objective... An active pour yields two fingers worth of light khaki colored froth... Excellent retention... Dare I say a goldish "amber" color... The nose is rather unique... Loads of fruit, but not those you typically find in a DIPA... Apricot... Strawberries... Just a hint of pine resins... The flavors are consistent with the nose... It's certain a DIPA with rich piney hop undertones, but there are a lot of unique and surprising flavors... Perhaps some candy and butterscotch notes... Again I get strawberry and apricots... Some slight cough syrup / mentolyptus notes... The mouthfeel is dense and on the lighter side of medium bodied... Lightly carbonation... A bit sticky... A rather unique brew... It's certainly not bad, but I'm struggling to figure out whether or not I like the unexpected attributes... This one almost teeters in Strong Ale territory...
