a tasty session hazy here thats nice and light in alcohol but still drinks about like a normal hazy, lots of grainy body, smooth and starchy, well hopped but low bitterness, a well made beer all the way and one of their best we had from these guys while we were in hawaii. nice pour on this, straw colored maybe a shade darker but with some brightness despite the haze, a puffy inch of white head crowns it nicely. the aroma on this is nice, grainy but dry, fruity and summery with obvious citrus character, could be citra hops featured, meyer lemon, tangerine, some canned pineapple juice too, really fresh and dynamic, doesnt feel in any way reduced to lightened to me off the bat, boldly hoppy. the flavor is cool too, not real bitter but not at zero there either, nice back end to it where some more old school hop character meets the juiciness that runs through much of it. wheat and oats seem likely, this is earthy and seems to have a little protein to it. as it warms cantaloupe, peach, and zesty lemon come out, and this is super lively and clean for a hazy, neutral on the ferment, and popping with up front hop character that is modern and distinctive. sometimes with session ipa, especially the hazy ones, they seem dumbed down and vacuous, but this one is well balanced, intentional, and complete, nice in the heat down there too, loved it! better than most in this space.
