I visited the Mad Scientist brewery/beer garden a few weeks ago while in Budapest. They're located in a place called the "Főzdepark", or brewing park, which is an old industrial facility that, among other things, houses three different breweries which share a courtyard area. They call their beer garden "Mad Kert" ("mad garden"), and it's got a fun vibe and summertime patio atmosphere. There are a dozen or more tables, a big wooden deck, and even a playground structure for kids to play. There's a food truck as well, in case you get hungry. Note that I think there is no indoor seating, or if there is, it was not open on the day I was there -- and they are only open three days a week, Friday-Sunday (at least this summer). There's no seating at the bar -- it's kind of an outdoor service kiosk -- but the staff are friendly and seem fluent in English so it's no problem if your Hungarian is rusty.
They had 15 of their beers on tap, plus a guest tap (this guest was Rothbeer Galaxy Lager; I am pretty sure Rothbeer is affiliated with Mad Scientist -- possibly even brewed by them, which would make this less of a "guest" beer I suppose). Their tap list is IPA and fruited-sour heavy, although there are stouts available too. On this visit, I had the Hotline Bling sour and the Double Rainbow sour, both of which were solid, probably my favorite Mad Scientist beers. Their IPAs are typically okay, if not outstanding.
