355ml can poured into tulip 12/4/17
.
a very slight haze in a golden yellow body, just a couple slow bubbles feeding a finger of foam that has decent retention leaving a couple partial rings
S lemon, pineapple, tangerine, pine grass and a hint of hard toffee to go with some floral notes
T more grains and less tropical notes the nose had going for it, pretty good though for a hoppy session
M light and fluffy, might be a little thin but I suppose its to be expected from the style, mild bitter bite with a grainy pine finish
O not a bad session IPA but could use a little more something.....drinkable for sure and enough going on to keep you from getting board
Much better then the other VI brews I had yesterday but still there's better ISA's on the same shelf for roughly the same price...

355ml can (@ 4.8% ABV - WTF?), with very hard to read small print. A self-proclaimed 'everyday IPA'. Ok.
This beer pours a mostly clear, medium golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, rocky, and chunky off-white head, which leaves some random spattered sudsy lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of gritty and grainy caramel malt, muddled domestic citrus rind, further indistinct tropical fruit notes, some chalkiness, and more leafy, piney, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, some orange and red grapefruit zest, a still hard to pinpoint exotic fruitiness, plain Pez candies, and a laid-back earthy, weedy, and piney verdant hoppiness.
The carbonation is fairly understated in its basic bitch frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with both the piney and citrusy elements apparently minding their manners here. It finishes off-dry, the malt and varied fruity essences lingering on like the bosses they want to be.
Overall, this a pleasant and well-made version of the style, even if I can't understand the substandard alcohol measure - why not just call it a Session IPA, like everybody else? Definitely easy to drink, and, of course, poundable as can be - for hop-heads, at least.

Vancouver Is. Brewery '19 IPA' @ 6.0% , served from a couple of 650 ml bottles purchased for $6.90 each
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a clear gold in the glass with a medium size off-white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-kinda tropical
T-lacking something , no wow factor
MF-moderate carbonation , medium body
Ov-just an ok winter session ale , dissapointing local IPA
