355ml can poured into tulip 11/4/17

a yellow liquid with lots of bubbles of all shapes and sizes, thumbs width of soapy foam leaves some spider web lace

s wheat malt and orange peel, sweet candy like notes but there's some sock like something hiding in the background but the peel covers for it but still hard to shake once I picked it up

T more cereals and citrus, some of the bad aspects of the nose don't carry through but still leaves something to be desired

M light, softens up, fine grit in the mouth, malty, rind finish

O something's a little off on the nose and didn't impress me in other areas, pretty basic stuff at the end of the day

This one never really did much for me, I could see the masses wanting one on a patio but I doubt any beer geeks would go back for seconds

355ml can - I guess it takes a drop to 4% ABV for this apparently reinventing itself brewery to deem something 'session' worthy. Also, I presume that this one's name is a reference to the Vancouver Island beach of the same name? Apparently, after reading the label screed, it is.

This beer pours a mostly clear, medium golden yellow colour, with three fingers of puffy, rocky, and bubbly off-white head, which leaves some sparse dissipating cloud form lace around the glass as it lazily recedes.

It smells of musty orange peel, grainy and crackery pale malt, a tame flintiness, and some plain earthy, leafy, and herbal green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, still old-seeming generic citrus esters, wan Pez candies, and more tame leafy, weedy, and dead grassy 'verdant' hoppiness.

The carbonation is adequate in its quotidian frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and generally smooth, if a tad watery in its countenance. It finishes trending dry, the citrus essence showing some lingering legs, and the rest of the lot simply sighing at the implied overtime request.

Overall, this is a pleasant enough fruity session ale, the unspecified citrus peel going long and hard in its support role here. A bit light all around, but easy to put back, in the sense of those not to be attended summer patio experiences to which I insist on alluding.
