Vancouver 27/7 2018. 65 cl bottle from Viti Liquor Store on E Hastings Street. What looks like an orange wave on purple background on the label. A part of the “Tidal series”.

Pours hazy golden yellow with a moderate creamy white head. Settles as a 3 cm thick blanket of foam. Pretty stable. Clinging to the side of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium-intense, sweet and very fruity. Overwhelmingly peach. Weaker mango and melon. Lightly fermented. Moderate citric notes. Alcohol peeking in.

Medium strong carbonation. Thick, oily yet lively texture.

Flavor is medium sweet followed by strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a boozy hint. Hints of sweet peach. Finish is semi-dry.

They are overdoing the Peach concentrate extract a bit. But a nice summer beer if you are not afraid to get a bit drunk in the Sun.

Vancouver Island Brewing 'Imperial Peach IPA' @ 8.5% , served from 650 ml bottle
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a slight hazy gold in the glass with a large white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-dry hopped Hallertau Blanc
T-clean & crisp , juicy DIPA , with no wow factor
MF-ok/mild carbonation , full bodied
Ov-bit disappointing , needs work
