Came in a dark brown half liter bottle with a pretty simple label featuring the coat of arms of the Khabarovsk brewery where this is made. Sugar is an ingredient, in order to raise the alcohol content. Bottled on 5/6/03, I opened it on 7/26/03.

Pours pale gold with lots of bubbles under a big three-finger head that disappeared quickly. The smell is malty and a bit metallic. The mouth was prickly and a tad tinny. The initial sweet malt taste was quicly overpowered by alcohol and rusty bitterness. The aftertaste was bitter, but a bit too far towards harsh.

The label states that a share of the proceeds from this beer will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund's program to save the Amur Tiger (known in the States as the Siberian White Tiger). OK, then I'll have another for the tiger!
