Right on the main block in town, conveniently located two doors down from my hotel. Small-ish storefront operation, small patio out front, dark wood interior with a great use of space. Very mellow vibe. Focus on German styles. Great service.

A small place specializing in German styles, but with a few non-German beers as well. Ordering is at a small bar, where you can fit maybe a half dozen to ten people standing. Outside of that area are a handful of tables. On either side of the entrance are the store front windows which have bar shelves where you can take a seat, have a beer, and watch the people go about their ways in downtown Leesburg.
The beers are pretty solid and I find to be quite in line with the styles as I understand them. The service is friendly and were able to answer the questions I had about the beer. The place is very laid back, and given its location, seems to be right at home as a neighborhood pub, though without anything more than some snacks for food.

Black Hoof reminds me of the small local German Gasthaus restaurant that I stayed in when I moved to Stuttgart in 1987. Fantastic beers, great staff and a great, family friendly vibe. They have plenty of power outlets for charging phones or laptops, games to pass the time and great tasting beer.

Excellent location tucked into beautiful Old Town Leesburg. Spacious back patio as well as plenty of interior seating. Light and bright with excellent German styles on tap with great service to boot!

This brewery is located in the historic area of downtown Leesburg in a storefront setting. We parked at curbside a block away, but I think I noted a city lot nearby. The bar is toward the rear of the pub but there is no seating at it. Tables/chairs probably would seat around 50-75 patrons. The brewing equipment is down the hallway at the rear of the building. A few tables are available on the front sidewalk. The décor has a little bit of a nice German flair to it (7 of the 11 beers were German-inspired styles) and the vibe is good. Service was at the bar and was also okay (they weren't busy.)
We ordered a sampler flight of 4 beers of the 11 that were available. Each was brewed to style but there wasn't anything exciting about them. A Marzen was available and I though had a bit too much malt sweetness for my preferences, and that was my only complaint about our beers.
There is no food offered here, although they do have a Bavarian pretzel as a snack; however, we didn't try it. I didn't see wine, seltzers, etc. as alternative drink options for non-beer drinkers. Howlers are available.

Went here for the first time the other night. I joined the cup group and named my cup Rumble! This place shakes up the brewing arena in Leesburg especially with their hefeweizen. It's 100% the best beer I've ever tasted and I'm a beer snob. It's nice to have this gem right here in downtown Leesburg. The atmosphere and staff was a blast which also helps, there wasn't a heavy wait and people there genuinely want to get to know you. Black Hoof gets 5 stars !
