The building looks to be a refurbished machine shop or light industrial structure. Black curved ceiling and worn concrete floor. Open view of brewing equipment on one side. Outdoor patio next to a creek. V-shaped bar with wood top and backed stools. Other seating at high top tables and community tables. Kitchen on-site for food ordering. About twenty beer taps with a good style selection. Offers tasters and flights. Cooler has cans to go. Staff is cordial, informative, and helpful. Adjacent gravel parking lot. Good hangout for locals.

I'm may overrate this brewery because my wife and I visited there one night and I had one beer (Kolsch) but I really like this place. They had a good variety that night (Kolsch, Hefe, IPA, DIPA, Sour, Marzen, Farmhouse Ale, American Porter, American Lager, ESB, & Brown Ale). The Kolsch was great. The food was good. It was the week of their Oktoberfest so it got busy early - right after 5:30pm. The service was very good considering how busy they were. Got us through the line in reasonable time, explained the beer selection well, and turned around the food order in reasonable time. I like the outdoor beer garden option. I'd definitely go back next time I'm there. If you are in Asheville and want to go a brewery that is not one of the bigger more well known ones in town, I highly recommend this one. You can park across the street after 5pm (it is pay parking however not expensive). Just be careful crossing the busy road!

Hopping brewpub on the south side of town in rehabbed industrial building. Small triangular bar with inside and outside seating, 8 or 10 tables about the room, and more than a dozen picnic tables out front. 18 well assorted beers on tap, I had the Hazy Half Back, which was very nice. I also had the Wednesday burger special which was very tasty and a great deal. Friendly service. Definitely a place I look forward to returning.

Had lunch with Da Boss here on 9-4-2021.

Vibe was cool with 90% of the seating on the outside either at high tops or picnic tables. The inside had a limited number of seats, walk up bar where you order food and drink, and the swag wall and cooler for to-go purchases. Front and back seating areas were accessible by a large wide open door.

Quality of the beer was good. Da Boss had a Kolsch which she approved of and i enjoyed the ESB.

Service was very friendly. The young man running the order taking was extremely upbeat and friendly to everyone that came in. He even ran the food out and was making side bets about our order.

Selection of beer was solid, maybe ten house beers and a few guest beverages in the to-go cooler.

Food was very good as we split the Cuban and the House Burger. The Ham on the Cuban was soaked in their DIPA which gave it an interesting twist.

Overall an enjoyable lunch at about noon on a Saturday where there were not many folks in initially but it was starting to fill up pretty quickly when we left after an hour.

Went here for lunch this past week while visiting my family.

V - Very Asheville-esque. A sort of hipster/industrial thing going on here, but it suits the building. Never seen so many overweight guys in cargo shorts in one place, but I'm liking it. Some pretty cool outdoor seating that merges into the indoor seating. All they really need is a good fire pit.
Q - Everything was fairly-priced and well-made. The beer was pretty good, but not the greatest in Asheville.
Sr - Prompt service. The ordering process was the type of walk in, place your order at the bar, and wait. The staff here are professional and fun, and very fast.
Sl - Small, but not-too-small beer list and food menu - a fantastic thing, in my opinion. A large menu does not a good place make! The selection present was a wide one, with something for every sort of mood.
F - Well-made and salty - all anyone could ask for brewery food! I had the grilled cheese when I was there, and it was a fine grilled cheese. They serve the food on metal trays & parchment with some very nice homemade pickles. All the food pairs well with all the beer, and the hefe/grilled cheese combo was very nice.

I'll definitely come here again when I'm in the area again. I very much recommend Hillman's.

Great asheville vibes with a big camplike outdoor beer garden, and the indoor carries the same influence with a seasonal festive flair. The beer selection does lean hoppy which is ironic because I think their best work is the classic styles (looking at your quad!) The service is super friendly, they have been very lenient with crowler options before which is very appreciated, plus I have seen them be above and beyond in accommodating people with mobility needs. Fun lively place

Nice place a little bit outside of downtown Asheville that is worth the trek off the beaten path. A little crowded on the Thursday night I went but still found a nice table outside and no qualms about the service. Beer selection offers a little variety of styles and the beers I had were pretty good. Worth checking out this spot and next time I'll try to have the food.

Had to seek out and find Hillman for their MOST EXCELLENT ESB. Easy to find - esp. from I-40 and avoid some traffic issues.
Nice casual roadside park vibe appearance, easy parking. It's a nice casual neighborhood hangout feel which I love. They don't can -except 32 oz crowlers to order I think. And their food is pure local awesome fresh and good reasonable variety for beer. THEIR BEERS ARE GREAT! Get their killer Porter, ESB, juicy haze NE style Half Back IPA, Mosaic IPA, MammaBrown, with falafel sliders and smoked potato salad! Luckily I had my driver, by design! Beautiful sweet service people and a big YES!!! Will be hanging out there more for sure to try more! Again, all the beers I tried were well above the standard for the Amazing Asheville beer scene.
