Pours a clear golden yellow color with a white head, smell was fruity and grassy. Taste had a floral hop with lemon grass and bread notes. Crisp mouth feel on the thin side was just average for the style.

The humble Kolsch. Like the Bitter, it is a lightweight in the modern beer world and rarely gets the spotlight. It is one of the more challenging beers to create with little room for error. No hops to hide behind here. So when you run into a Kolsch as clean and clear and refreshing as this one you've got to pause. This is summer in a can. Refined. Beautiful. Delicious.

L: drops gold with minimal haze under a a massive white cap with good persistence
S: big whiff of noble hops upon cracking the crowler followed by light cracker, a hint of fruit and some fresh bread dough
T: Light fruit, pear and apple joined by bread crumb and light bread dough lead to a mildly tart finish from the carbonation
F: very creamy texture, a medium to medium light body, medium plus carbonation
O: nice, easy to drink beer with mild yeast flavors, soft malt and medium bitterness

probably the most drinkable and technically solid beer we had from these guys, which is why we chose this for our growler fill. its a light and delicate kolsch, with almost a cream ale element to it, sort of cool conditioned and yeasty at the end, but also dry and crisp, quite flavorful for such a light beer, and also rather true to tradition. just a bit of haze to it, a tall white lace head, and a lot of bubbles. its aroma is softly bready but really clean, malty but dry and pale, and almost seems to have a little wheat in it, making it creamy in the taste and texture. mellow grain flavor, almost like oatmeal or something, some bittering hops, an old world yeast strain, and a bit more body than most of these have which i really appreciate. faint hints of vanilla and corn in here too, just nuances, making this a bit more complex than most kolsch types, and rather evolved for such a simple and easy drinking beer. carbonation is fantastic, and it drinks like a light lager. really nicely made beer from the new guys! well done.
