Copenhagen 1/2 2019. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Borups Allé, Frb. The Coat of Arms from the Brewery shining on the label.

Pours slightly hazy yellow with small white head. Settles as small puddles of foam drifting around. No lacing to speak of.

Aroma is sweetish and very malty. Bread, sugar, grains, corn and a light sour fruitiness.

Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery, oily, lightly prickly texture.

Flavor is rather sweet followed by a medium strong, rough bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a while. Semi-dry finish.

A bit too sweet but it helps with a solid bitter aftertaste.

330 ml bottle, shared by my son. ABV is 5.2%. Slightly hazy golden colour, moderate white head. Strong aroma of light malts and floral hops. Distinct herbal and floral hops in the flavour too, sufficient malts, good bitterness.

Pours a clouded, paler golden color with a medium sized head.

Offers a wonderfully grassy, herbal nose with a good amount of skunky weed to it, balanced by a lighter crackery quality and fresh cut ginger.

Has a light mouthfeel to it, with an early effervescence, dying down immediately, allowing for an aqueous, softer finish.

Tastes of caramel malts, light herbs and grainy wheat, together with a surprising tartness. Turns very mineralic then, almost like licking on a stone, with a prominent bread dough backbone. Finishes rustic, clean and light, with a lingering bitterness to it.

Pretty bold, unusual but tasty. Not 100% clean as a traditional Helles, but unconventional and interesting.
