Copenhagen 7/1 2018. 50 cl bottle from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus, Østerbrogade, Kbh. Ø. Brown label with a lot of writing on it and what looks like some kind of runes with a sword and a wheel.
Pours hazy maroon with a big bubbly off-white head. Settles as a thin patchy layer of foam. No lacing.
Aroma is intense. Strong sweetness combined with an acidic tart odor. Some nuts and brown sugar. Unripe berries - with a little sweetness and a whole lot of tart intensity.
Medium strong carbonation and a medium thick palate.
Flavor has strong sweetness followed by and balanced by a strong tart bitterness. Aftertaste is tart. Lingering.
Fine brown ale. Sweet and nutty - and tart and bitter at the same time. I do wonder what's especially Belgian about it.

330 ml bottle, as Ebeltoft Belgian Brown (Rosenholm is not mentioned on the label), from the brewery. ABV is 6.8%. Copper to chestnut colour, small off-white head. Moderate aroma of malts, caramel and slightly spicy Belgian ale yeast. Flavour of caramel and brown bread with syrup, some sourish hints.
