Pours a hazy, deep orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of mango, orange and some distinct floral and slightly herbal accents. Taste is a good balance of light biscuity malt and quite floral, bitter and slightly herbal and earthy hops, with fruity citrus and tropical notes of mango, papaya and orange, as well as just a hint of mint. Finishes with a light bitterness and some fruity, floral hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I'm a little torn about this. While it's actually not that bad for containing Loral hops, I'm still firmly of the opinion that brewers need to stop putting them into IPAs and keep their usage to hoppy Lagers instead. This certainly has those strong floral notes that I've come to associate with Loral hops, but they are really not *too* bad, with some herbal and earthy accents as well, while balanced nicely against the more fruity, slighty zesty citrus and lighter tropical notes of Citra. Still, at the end of the end this is still too floral for my personal taste, while it also kinda lacks those vibrant, juicy hops and soft mouthfeel that I've come to expect from Fuerst Wiacek a little.
