Pours hazy, bright orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of lime peel and mango, with some floral notes as well. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly floral, bitter and spicy hops, with strong citrus and lighter tropical notes of lime peel, grapefruit, mango and papaya, as well as just a hint of grassy accents and peppery spice. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some lime peel, mango and peppery spice lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While I'm not a huge fan of Loral hops at all, particularly in NEIPAs, I have to say that they really pulled this one off very nicely once again, as I seem to remember with a previous brew by them also containing Loral hops. While there is a bit of that quite floral character to this, especially in the aroma, it's not too overbearing here, with the zesty citrus notes from the Motueka being quite dominant here, as well as lighter tropical accents and a good bitterness in the finish. Overall, given the Loral hops, this makes for a surprisingly enjoyable NEIPA that is well-balanced and features a very nice, although somewhat uncharacteristic bitterness for the style, as well as a very nice mouthfeel.
