Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and chalky, herbal hops, with hints of tangerine coming through as well. Taste is a decent balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, floral, chalky and herbal hops, with faint citrus and tropical notes of tangerine and papaya, as well as an unpleasant, chalky aftertaste. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some tangerine and chalk lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
I have to say that this was quite a disappointment, especially coming from Fuerst Wiacek, as the aroma and flavor profile are really odd and unpleasant here and certainly not what you would expect from the hop varieties used. Actually the Amarillo is pretty recognizeable with those typical, floral and zesty "orange blossom" notes, but there's not a hint of that vibrant passion fruit character that I expect from Galaxy here, with some really unplesant chalky and herbal notes coming through in the aftertaste, while the mouthfeel is not all that great as well. Overall, this is a rare but total miss from one of Germany's finest NEIPA breweries, not sure what went wrong here, but if I had to guess I'd say low-quality Galaxy hops.
