Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical/citrus hops, with notes of papaya, pineapple and orange. Taste is a good balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly floral and grassy hops, with tropical and citrus notes of papaya, pineapple and orange. Finishes with a light bitterness and some papaya, pineapple and orange lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This left me just a tad disappointed coming from Fuerst Wiacek, but perhaps this is just due to this being 11 months old now, which I can't really hold against them though, as they actually feature some of the most clear and comprehensive date labeling in the German craft beer scene right now. I mean, it's fine, really, the hops just feel a little stale and washed-out, not quite as vibrant and juicy and a little more floral and grassy than I would have hoped for, with the mouthfeel also just being good, not great. Maybe it's the collaboration as well, who knows. Overall, this makes for a decent NEIPA that was probably a lot better fresh, but still drinks nicely enough. I have adjusted my score slightly upwards to compensate for the age of this, since the canning date was clearly labeled.
