Pours a hazy, bright orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of doughy malt and mango, without much passion fruit and vanilla coming through. Taste is a good balance of light doughy malt, strong unripe mango and hints of passion fruit, as well as the merest hint of vanilla, being kind of drowned out by the sour tanginess though. Finishes with a medium tartness and some mango and lighter passion fdruit and vanilla lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Although the list of ingredients might suggest otherwise, this makes for a fairly standard Fruited Kettle Sour and does not not drift off into Pastry Sour at all. While this is not necessarily a bad thing, the vanilla, which is hardly present here at all seems like false advertising. There's a good tartness to this though, with very little sweetness coming through, although that dominating, rather unripe mango flavor takes some getting used to. I got there after half the can though, with the passion fruit coming through a little more to me as well. Overall, this makes for a nice, quite tart and tropical Kettle Sour that feels just a tad unripe and lacking in the advertised vanilla though.
