This came out recently, since Maltman started bottling all its beers in 250mls, interesting enough it doesn't even appear on their website at all. Was happy to see a "Californian" ale on the Hungarian market but was utterly disappointed. Perhaps it was partially due to it being not cooled down properly and partially due to my own expectations of what a California Summer Ale is supposed to be like (was it all my fault?). Should it be on the hoppy side or on the adjunct lager side, I wondered? In the end it was on neither, rather somewhere around the yet nonexistent category of an "euro ale"...
Although I'm still fascinated about what it supposed to be, I purchased the same from Karpat, the Slovakian brewery that brews also Maltman - have a feeling that they will perhaps be the very same thing. Let's see if this beer has any validity to be around anymore.
