Pours a pitch black coloration with a large, creamy, lasting head. Smells intensely of roasted, caramel malt and coffee, with a hint of milk chocolate and vanilla. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by roasted, caramel malt and roasted coffee, as well as lighter notes of milk chocolate and hints of vanilla, cinnamon, peppery spice and herbal hops. Finishes bittersweet, with a light bitterness and some roasted coffee and spice lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
Great coffee stout with a strong roasted malt and coffee character, with some chocolate and lighter spice notes from the coffee and rye malt as well. Perhaps a little too sweet from the added sugar, but still quite well-balanced and enjoyable all in all.
