Consumed June 28th, 2012 at the brewery. Reviewed from notes.
Beer is a clear medium golden with virtually no head.
No hops evident in aroma: just a mild crystal malt note.
Flavor is caramel malt with slight bitterness on finish. Fairly unremarkable. No hop flavor at all.
Medium bodied and a little tingly.
Drinkable enough, but not especially satisfying.

(Sampler at the brewpub) Pelican Pale has a a pale straw color with a very thin white head. The aroma is bright and flowery and of pale malt. The body borders on medium light. It's supple and dusty. The flavor is of fresh citrus (grapefruit) and pine. There's nothing complex going on here, folks. Yes! It tastes like California!

On tap at the brewpub. 6 oz. sampler. Honey/straw color, sticky white head leaves ample lacing. Aroma is lightly malty with prominent floral hoppiness. Taste is also hop-centric, with a piny bitterness and a modest pale malt profile for balance. Typical medium-thin body and high carbonation, easy to drink.

Beer pours a medium dark gold with thin head and light carbonation. Little hop aroma is good-don't expect much malt and much hops in this beer which again is good. Mouthfeel is light and drinkability is OK- I couldn't see myself drinking more than one of these

This arrived as a somewhat plain shade of yellow and amber, wearing a small head. It's leaving some lace behind.
The smell is subdued but not bad. The front of the taste is a good combination of pale malts and bitterness. Hops are accented in a pleasing way, making for a good combination of flavors. It's pretty light in the mouth, while being pretty easy to drink.
