On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:

Black like midnight with small, tight lacing above the body. So much for a lace covered glass. The nose brings dark cocoa and molasses to the piutre, and its taste follows a similar path. Cocoa and some roast, with a pour of molasses towards the back. The body is medium and somewhat smooth, which helps make this Oatmeal Stout easy to drink. A pleasant oatmeal stout, and it's not just for breakfast.

Had a taste of this one since the better half recommened it. The stout poured black with little carbonation. The aroma was primarly of chocolate. Little contribution from the hops. Taste was what was expected for an oatmeal stout. Would keep on my list as something that would go with a dessert

(Sampler at the brewpub) Pours solid black with no real head. The aroma is of dark black malt and perhaps licorice. It's thick and pretty smooth. The bitterness in the flavor approaches mocha. Great stuff. I guess I'm just a sucker for a good stout.

On tap at the brewpub. 6 oz. sampler. Opaque brown with a light tan head of about a half finger's height. The foam leaves no lacing on it's way to becoming a thin halo. Smell is of bittersweet chocolate. Smooth oaty texture, black coffee and baker's chocolate in the flavor. Roasty finish.

Nearly opaque brown with a sharp looking and lasting medium thickness head. Large chocolate malt aroma. Flavor follows suit, beginning with chocolate, moving towards a roasted coffee bean middle and finally ending with pronounced oatmeal and a slightly hopped finish. Body is medium and mouthfeel is smooth with a mild twang at the end. Drinkability is high even on a warm summer day.

Picked up this bottle on a recent trip to the Seabright Brewery. A rotating bottled offering, brewed by the Coast Range folks in Gilroy. I was hoping to pick up some of the interesting Blur and Poquito Bandito, but no such luck.

Pours almost black, topped by a generous amount of bubbly, frothing head.

Nose isn't particularly aromatic. Just a dash of roasted malt, and the bittersweet scent of baker's chocolate.

The first thing that jumps into my mind after my first few tastes is the overall smoothness of this brew. Rich dark chocolate compliments the roasted malt, thickened by the subtle oatmeal graininess. Not overly hopped, just a quick little bit towards the end before dropping off into a mellow finish.

Pretty decent stab at the style, by an underrated brewery.

This arrived looking very dark, with a small head that looked nice as well.

The smell is good, bringing chocolate and oatmeal on top of roasted malts. The taste is also good, although it seemed to be more of chocolate than oatmeal. Regardless, it's a blend of flavor that tastes good. It was a little more rough than expected in the mouth, but the mouthfeel and drinkability were still decent.
