#1734 - Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)…
L- Very pale, straw, pours with moderate haze and a 2Cm pillowy snow white head. ps @ +10mins, head is holding up well.
S- Complex wheat notes though notable for coming out as rather woody + sour vs spicy.
T- I see the 'sour'^ aspect read through to the taste, it has a distinctly bright+piquant note, 'woody' too as it happens. That strikes my palate before I register some of the more typical light spice wheat/Wit notes.
F- The sour^ note makes this quite refreshing. I bet this could slake a thirst on a frazzler of a day 'Down Mexico Way' [sorry!]. The body is quite light, though the busy Taste notes mostly compensate for it.
O- Something different. A Wit/wheat beer with an added sour aspect to it. The latter isn't in your face, ie nothing to fear for those unfamiliar with sour beer aspects, it sits well within the overall balance.
This is by far the most enjoyable Mexican beer I've had, although they're very rare to find outside the Americas. This is only my 8th, but I look at how I've rated the previous seven; 2.45, 2.53, 2.61, 2.09, 1.92[Dos Equis], 1.68[Corona], 2.17. Jeez! rDev%'s all sub-0% down to -30%! Clearly los previous Mehicanos did nada to impress; so this one is something waaay more accomplished and drinkable.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! ==> Unpasteurised, unfiltered, the rest beyond 'citrus and spice' is beyond my schoolboy spanish...
330ml bottle BB:17/07/2021 Bought from BeersOfEurope, King's Lynn/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London. ... ps. Got to wonder HTH this wound up in a beer warehouse in rural Norfolk/UK!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
