Transformando Sociedad Cooperativa Andaluza “Bandolera IPA”
33 cl brown glass bottle coded “CONSUMIR PREFERENTEMENTE ANTES DEL: 180724” and sampled on 301123
Notes: With new packaging this beer is simply labeled “IPA”. It’s brewed with barley, wheat, hops, and yeast to 6.5% ABV.
Look: A cloudy orange body is capped by a short but creamy head of white foam. The head retention and lacing are better than average.
Smell: The aroma is limited with some bready malt and a touch of citrusy hops peeking through.
Taste: It’s a bit tart which is most likely due to all of the yeast in it. It shouldn’t be cloudy like a Hefeweizen, and there’s plenty of sediment visible in both the glass and the bottle. Beyond that it’s malty, sweetish, and bready with some citrusy and piney hops rounding it out. A firm bitterness leads to a dry finish.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp with a seemingly natural carbonation.
Overall: I’m not sure if this is a single bottle issue or not but there’s way too much yeast in it. I’d like to try it again to see but I’m a little hesitant.

24 May 2017. At mega. In shaker glass. Lunch with Miguel, with Jack Daniel’s burger. No defects here, just less intensity in its profile than I expect in an IPA. I miss more hops, too flat, but not unplesant at all
