Typical pub food on a limited menu, beers are average to below average. It's convenient to grab a couple of beers while at Broadway at the Beach, but don't plan a trip around this place. Beer prices were good however, $3.75/pint.

Visiting the brewery after visiting to other chain location. Brewery has only their beer. Stout was good.

An overall very enjoyable visit with great food. Seated over Broadway's lake where we sat against the window unfortunately near a bug zapper (grumble grumble). Regardless a nice relaxing atmosphere in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Broadway, being a nice getaway to refuel in several ways. Of course, I ordered a sampler of all there beers and was very impressed that there wide variety didn't hinder the quality of any of the brews. My highlight being there Raspberry wheat fused with over 80lbs of raspberries, yet not overly sweet, and very refreshing for a hot summer day! The food was great and I would highly recommend Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery to anyone in the area looking for a higher quality of dinning.

 

 

 

 

Atmosphere: A nice restaurant/brewpub and beautiful wood work throughout the place. Great place to enjoy a good meal and beer.

Quality: Quality of the beer itself was pretty decent. I had 4 different beers and would rate the average quality as a B- or maybe a B.

Service: Service was pretty good; our waiter knew a fair bit about the beers and brewing process and was telling us some cool things about the way they brewed there beer on site there. It was also nice to just talk to a fellow BA about beer talk.

Selection: Selection was limited to 8 beers (6 regulars and 2 seasonals). Nuff said.

Food: Food was pretty good; not the best around, but definitely stands on its own.

Value: Great value if you are looking for collectible memorabilia from a brewpub--they offer a 23 oz. beer for $6.95, and you get to keep the pilsner glass. The downside is that the glass is frosted, so if you like clear glassware to look at your beer, you're out of luck. Otherwise prices were average (3.75 for a pint, 4.95 for a 23 oz.).

Went with a group of eight family members, and a reservation for 7pm and we were seated at about 730pm. Four of us ordered house beers in glasses we would get to keep, and we were all impressed with the quality of the beer. A few of us got appatizers and the large quanity matched the good quality, as we were all able to share. the breaded mushrooms were spectacular as was the calamari. When the entrees came not one of use was dissapointed by the quality or, once again, the quanity; as we all had a take home box. The server was nice and funny. I finished of the evening with a Maibock; I didnt reveiw because of not having the specifics to enter it into the system. I do have the notes however so when it is entered I will be doing that. I would love to visit this place again next year and following years when the family visits Myrtle Beach.

Liberty is a good sized Steakhouse located in Broadway at the Beach. The front has a small gift shop area to the right when you walk in. Here you can buy shirts, glasses, etc. Atmosphere was fairly laid back and seemed somewhat family friendly. Service was prompt so no compaints there. Selection could be much better. They were out of a couple brews that were on the menu which left only about 5 or so to choose from. The ones that I tried were pretty mediocre. This included the Raspberry Wheat, White Ale, Rockets Red Ale and the IPA. The one beer that stood out was the Maibock. Easily the best of the bunch. Typical steakhouse fare at Liberty. Steaks, seafood, burgers, and a few appetizers. It's better than expected. Overall it's a pretty decent place but nothing I'd seek out again.

Liberty Steakhouse Brewery is located at Broadway at the Beach. I have made several visits over the years. Liberty offers a variety of styles, and they have had a few new selections in recent months. I have learned there is a new brewer, and I think the quality of the beers I have had recently has improved. I look forward to trying the recently tapped Maibock.

The restaurant is spacious. There is a reasonable bar area and an outdoor biergarten. The food here is good, and the happy hour features discounted beers and appetizers.

Sat at the bat and drank and had some appetizers. The atomshpere was nice some tvs around the bar the typical stuff you would expect from this type of place. There were 7 different beers on tap. The white ale and raspberry wheat which were listed as retired were on the tap list there. The bartenders are fast and decently knowledgeable. The food we had was very good, the bar menu was typical of what I was expecting pretzels, wings, chicken fingers and the like. The beer overall was what I was expecting. Nothing spectacular everything in that b to c range. Overall a nice place with okay beer.

Main seating area is cavernous. Reminds me of a big southern fish camp. Some water overlook seating around the edges. Bar area is very nice, though. Outdoor seating in front of the restaurant.

Menu has been better in the past and is somewhat limited now. There is decent variety in steaks, pizzas, bar apps. Does have kids menu.

8 taps going and lots of signage around to let you know what is pouring. Most of their beers are lighter in body and flavor, with the porter and ipa the only exceptions. Lots of wheats and lagers.

Had great service the night and they were pretty busy.

Good place to stop in for a pint while the family explores the Broadway at the Beach area.

For a brewpub in a tourist location, this is about as good as can be expected. The beers have a good taste without being overly exceptional. The waitstaff can vary from very good to just okay - it all depends on the person. We went there twice while on vacation and so-so service the first time and really good service the second. Go there between 4 and 7pm for their happy hour specials - half off all drinks (beer and mixed) and their bar food. We had appetizers and they were quite good. It gets busy during happy hour because it is a great deal. Been to this place several times each time we go back to MB and it's still going strong!

Tucked away in a corner of the Broadway at the Beach complex, it was behind a Starbucks, barely visible from the road. There was a covered biergarten to the left at the entryway with picnic tables and garden furniture. A set of FVs was visible in a second floor window and a replica of the Statute of Liberty sat to the right of the doorway. Inside and to the right was a huge m.d.s. with a counter of logo items to the extreme right. A large picture window on the left overlooked the copper-clad brewhouse and a few FVs on the first floor. A long row of SVs were visible on the second floor above the bar area. Continuing straight in from the m.d.s. were the Grain Storage room on the left, lavs on the right and then the extensive restaurant area with booths in front to right and a sea of wooden tables and chairs beyond. By taking a left at the m.d.s. and transiting down a short ramp with the brewhouse on the right behind glass, the "U" shaped, copper-topped bar was on the right, surrounded by a combination of high tables and chairs and benches and chairs.

Beers: Miss Liberty Lager; C. W. Porter; Unfiltered Wheat; Raspberry Wheat; Not Brown Ale; Clyde's Pale Ale (CPA); White Ale; Amber Waves.

The CPA had a biscuity taste. Needed more hops.

Broadway at the Beach is a very cool place. We got a table at the window overlooking the lake. Great view! Our server was very friendly and was there when we needed her. We were there around lunchtime and there wasn't much of a crowd. Food came quickly and was quite good. I only had a cup of chili and split a plate of the pretzels with my wife. Very good! The beer, (which is why I went there), did not fair so well. I had the Nut Brown Ale and the Porter. Both were weak and unmemorable. So go for the food and skip the beer.

I must say first of all that I am rating the quality and selection on beer alone. I am thoroughly unimpressed with the beer at liberty. I have tried about 8 of their beers and have yet to be even moderately impressed. The beer just tastes watered down. It is almost like they are aiming to make everything as close to an adjunct lager as possible while still using all malt. When I stumbled upon this place I was so excited, fresh beer, steaks, what else could a man want? When I must go here, I order an unsweet tea, and a bleu cheese filet. The food is excellent, the cuts of meat are top notch. The beer is horrible, I hate to be so critical, and if you look at the rest of my reviews, I tend not to be, but I have not been impressed yet. The service has been good when I have went there, the atmosphere is nice, bags of grain stacked about here and there. Nice shiny fermenters on prominent display. I almost wanted to help them out and dump 20 more bags of grain into the mash tun for them along with a couple pounds of hops to give their beer some flavor. Liberty, give me real beer...or give me another restaurant.

Located in Myrtle Beach's very popular Broadway at the Beach, Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery is the main reason why I visit the shopping plaza. Easy to spot by the Statue of Liberty out front and the giant sign, with parking shared by the rest of the mall. The place has minimal atmosphere, with the exception of a few beer producing products scattered about, and a few stars and patriotism here and there. The place has plenty of seating though, whether it be in the bar area, biergarden, dining room, or back deck, which is a good thing because the place gets packed.

The beers aren't the greatest, but there is always a good variety of styles (up to 8 different taps) and all fairly low in abv, which is very helpful during the hot summer months. Service is very good, with waitstaff always running about to appease guests.

The food is also excellent, even the simplest things like the house salad come with a great ginger beer dressing that should be bottled and sold in their merchandise area. Besides appetizers, salads, soup, hamburgers, sandwiches, and steaks, they've also got a nice selection of chicken, fish, and seafood, and all of it tasting wonderful.

The best thing about Liberty has to be their Happy Hour pricing (4-7 only in the bar and beergarden), which is pretty hard to top in such a touristy area. Their regular beer prices are very reasonable, but are even better during Happy Hour, along with 1/2 price appetizers such as wings, Buffalo shrimp, eggrolls, and crawdads.

Liberty may not be a Russian River, Victory, or Stone World Bistro, but it will remain as my must stop place while visiting Myrtle Beach.

This is a long overdue beer fly for the establishment that I first cut my craft beer teeth on back in the late 90s. We used to live about an hour from Myrtle Beach, so I spent many a Saturday afternoon here drinking $2 Liberty Lagers and Raspberry Wheat Ales during happy hour. Of course I enjoyed the beer more back then because it was a cheaper and a better tasting way to get a buzz. But even now, as I enjoy craft beer for entirely different reasons, we still stop by for a visit whenever we're in town.

This "Brewery & Steakhouse" sits prominently (you can't miss the Statue of Liberty statue out front) among the other shops and restaurants of the Broadway at the Beach complex, which has basically become the boardwalk style, play area of Myrtle Beach. The main dining area is pretty massive with plenty of dining seating available, including a back deck that offers a nice view of the man-made lake that sits in the middle of the complex. Off to the left as you enter is the good size bar area and then outside of that (out front) is their "biergarten" that has had an awning and TV s added to it over the last couple of years. All in all, tons of seating to handle those summer crowds. The atmosphere is a mix of Americana (lots of patriotic paintings and images abound) and naturally beer, with bags of malt and lots of brew kettles/tanks in plain sight to remind the tourists that they actually make fresh beer here.

Ah, onto the beers, and I'll have to be brutally honest....they just aren't that great. If you're coming here for a mind-blowing craft beer experience, you're going to be sorely disappointed. If your looking for some refreshing lighter styles (think Blondes, Lagers, Pale Ales, Wheat Ales, Ambers) that are a step up from the normal Macro-crap served at most of the bars/restaurants around here, then your in luck. I just wish that all of their beers just packed in more flavor. Even when they delve into some darker stuff, like a Porter or Nut Brown, there just isn't enough to keep the palette interested. The number of selections here is actually pretty decent with usually about 8 on tap at any given time. Once in a while you'll see something interesting like a DIPA or the occasional seasonal. It's also kind of disappointing that since they've popped the cap in SC, none of our visits here yielded any kind of higher gravity stuff. Not even in the off-season when you would think that they would try some new stuff out on the locals.

One of the main reasons to come here though (and when I would personally check it out) is during their daily happy hour. It runs from 4-7 everyday but is only good in the bar area. It's $2.50 for all of their house made beers (they actually raised it up 50 cents after being at $2 forever) and all bar appetizers are half price as well. This was always a good deal (and pretty much still is) as you can walk out of there having drank a bunch of beers and a couple of appetizers for under $20. Service has always been good here, with our servers always being quick with a fill up (hey, that's important during a happy hour!) and very friendly. Heck, we still recognize servers that have had to have been with the organization for almost 10 years now!

So there you go. The place is definitely a mixed bag but my rating probably represents a bit of nostalgia on my part as well that might boost it a bit. It's not too hot as far a many other brewpubs go but definitely not bad considering that part of Myrtle Beach. Go during happy hour, cool down with a cold one, and take pride in the fact that it was brewed right there and tastes better than 99% of whatever else is offered in the immediate area.

After a 9 hour drive to the beach, and eagerly anticipating the sun and fun, It was raining like hell. A perfect opportunity to find a brewery and some good food. The Brewery and Restruaunt is located in the 'Broadway at the Beach' complex and is difficult to find since many of the roads are unmarked. Once inside, the experience turned out very nice. The building looks and behaves like a large log cabin on the lake; charming, warm and inviting. A table at the bar area works just fine. The entire menu seems very good quality, however the pizza that I had turned out just average. The beer offerings were 7 taps ranging from light lagers to brown ales. All of the brews were a bit timid and ordinary except for the seasonal Double IPA, which has tons of flavor, balance, and power. They allow smoking inside, which distracted from the overall appreciation of the visit. The prices were quite reasonable for such a tourist-trap. The waitress was very good with the beer knowledge and was quite attentive. A good visit overall. I certainly recommend the visit for any beer advocate, since quality beer spots at Myrtle Beach are sparse.

Liberty has a good location at Broadway on the Beach which is how we ended up there. The place looked like the typical brew house with plenty of seating and bags of ingredients lying around on skids. We were seated overlooking the water which was a great spot to look at all the hungry fish and ducks battling for the kibble thrown in the water by tourist like myself.

I came in for the $21.95 20oz porter house steak and a great beer. My wife ordered the $19 pepper corn NY strip. Both of the steaks were a great value and tasty. I was a little disapointed on the brew though. After a week of mostly bland beer I was wanting something with some hops that would rip my toung out and smack me with it about my head and sholders, so I ordered the doubble IPA. It was served in a small weizen glass. 8o(( The beer had the floral character you would expect but the hops were missing. I am starting to think I walked into a tourist trap, DANG IT. The doubble IPA was very drinkable though as well as the white ale I had next. With out a doubt Liberty has the best beer slection at Broadway on the Beach. I think the brew master has toned down everything for the tourists though. Overall the food was good the prices reasonable but the beer was average. Oh yeah they were giving away free 23 oz weizen glasses, which are awesome for my 22 oz Schnider Weiss beer, just for drinking their micro-brews so drink up and get a free glass while they last.
