I was hoping to be the first to review this, but, alas!
The appearance is that of a pale golden color. Nice clarity. A small head formed but dissipated almost immediately into a ring around the glass, leaving no lace.
The smell is not very hoppy, but to me smells like a rum. An interesting smell.
The taste is loaded with hops. Hops up front and the hop bite in the back. I feel the beer all the way down and the sting resonates in my back tongue. I dont think the alcohol is too noticeable; Not as much as a regular bock I dont believe. Very clean and crisp.
The mouthfeel has a bit too much hop feel, but a very drinkable beer. This may be my new favortie at Liberty. Definitely their best beer to date.

A new seasonal at Liberty the forgotten brewpub in the triad area here in NC,pours a nice clear golden with a bone white one finger head.Aromas of cooked grain and a touch of caramel, pleasantly suprised this helles bock was very traditional in flavor and had quite a nice hefty mouthfeel toasted grain and caramel upfront and a pleasant alcohol zip in the finish made me start to think.I asked the hostess if this was a post-pop the cap recipe and she said the head brewer tweaked it a little likely putting it over the 6% the previous limit here.A nice brew has some balls like a helles bock, will hopefully get more.
