Appearance: Pours a clearish, dark copper body with a small white head.

Smell: Sweet-tart aroma of figs and sliced apples, booze, and caramel malts.

Taste: Sweet dark caramel maltiness at the start along with a juicy, sweet-tart fruitiness. Mild, spicy hop character. The alcohol perks up midway and lasts into the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Slight stickiness to the mouthfeel.

Drinkability: An okay doppelbock: I liked it well enough.

Served on draft at the High Point location. Pours a slightly dark amber color with a minimal white head. No lacing and the head leaves almonst immediately.

Aroma is sort of lacking. Malty but not very. Sweet with some caramel. I would like a bit more umph to the aromas in a Doppelbock, especially a big malty aroma.

Taste was average. Matly with a slight green apple taste.

Finishes smooth and creamy and is a bit thick and chewy on the mouthfeel. Plenty of malty breadiness in the finish; I just wish it was there in the forefront as well.

Not bad. Again, with the new brewer, things are looking up and Liberty is offering decent beers here in High Point.
