A: Pours a clear medium to dark mahogany brown in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate ruby red + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a half finger tall sudsy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering a little more than 80% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel + nutty malts with a moderate amount of caramel + molasses + dark fruit/raisin sweetness.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of caramel + nutty malts with a moderate amount of caramel + molasses + dark fruit/raisin sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of earthy + spicy hops which contribute a hint of bitterness which fades away quickly leaving light lingering malty sweetness.
M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Easy to drink with decently well hidden alcohol but slightly thin in the mouthfeel for the style. Enjoyable but not quite as filling as some of the more classic examples of the style.

T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of raisins and dark and nutty malts with a touch of sweetness.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied in the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
