Winter IPA is a festive delight, a cold beer built for cold weather. A selection of citrus-forward hops combined with oats and a touch of red malt result in a hop-driven, warming IPA. Best enjoyed by the fire, on the slopes, or at a holiday feast with family and friends.

Five Boroughs Winter IPA draft at dinner in March 2025. The beer is fairly pale. It gives an initial impression of being a bit dry. As the beer is drunk, the dryness subsides and it becomes more enjoyable. Nothing too special. For me, I'd prefer a less alcoholic drink that delivers a bigger flavor.

Not bad. If Sierra Nevada made a light version of Celebration Ale this might be it.

Picked up a sixer while home for the holidays and am now back in Maryland enjoying the lone survivor. Nice mélange of hop tones, from juicy citrus and robust pine to subtle lupulin, this mixes it up. I like the hop forward ethos but the caramel backbone keeps it grounded. Not amazing, but worth a try for me.

A: The beer is hazy pale dark yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts and orange citrus are present in the nose along with notes of spices.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the citrusy flavors are a bit subdued and the hops also contribute a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is a bit maltier compared to other beers in the style, making it a nice selection for the winter months.
