Picked this up last year (yes, I'm behind) at Five Boroughs during my shift because of it's description and yes, who doesn't like being happy to be served? This was enough to make me happy as it was easy to enjoy and held up well over the last year, although it felt as much a Pastry/Sweet Stout as an American one.
No surprise that this poured like coffee from a corner bodega with plenty of tan and bubbly head to offset the liquid. Not a lot of lacing was left behind once the head subsided, even though this was quite a cloying beer. Coffee, cinnamon, and a bit of creamer filled the nose as the taste was just as reminiscent of a morning cup of joe...with a little bit extra thrown in. Some spice and lactose gave it the depth and weight that it needed from being too thin and light with the end result being a beer that felt like something for dessert instead of breakfast.
Thankfully, the alcohol was subdued although I warmed up a bit before I finished this off as this never felt like something concocted by Starbucks. Dated 1/13 of last year on the bottom of the can, this was fun and even had me wishing for the old-school coffee cups that the label invoked!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
