From the wax capped topped bottle in a snifter via Bluejacket74!!
This excellent brew pours a murky black with a decent head of brown foam
that subsides to a thick ring with light lacing. Nose of maple, bourbon,
vanilla, char, dark berries, and subtle oak amongst layers of dark
bakers chocolate and coffee. Flavors hit the mark with dark coffee,
dark bakers cocoa, vanilla, char, dark berry notes of blueberry and
hints of raspberry, brulee, and sweet bourbon dashed with maple
and oak. Nice mouth feel; full body, smooth, rich, coating, warming,
light carbonation, and finishing full, sweet, and well balanced.
Overall---WOW!
Cheers

22 ounce grey wax capped bottle, label says 14% ABV, no dating that I noticed on there. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head that stuck around a while. Decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like maple, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malt and some bourbon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some oak, burnt/charred malt, coffee and dark bready flavors. The aroma led me to think that this was going to be a really sweet tasting brew, but that wasn't the case. All the flavors meshed well together, and I think the barrel character comes out more in the taste. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall brew, definitely worth picking up if you get the chance!
