This beer pours black and is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves nice lacing.
I must say that this smells like cake. Chocolate and vanilla and cake are all there.
The taste is chocolate. I get vanilla in the aftertaste. It is definitely a dessert beer. It becomes a bit rich after awhile.
Medium bodied with a thinner than expected mouthfeel
I loved the smell and first couple of sips. Then it got to be too sweet for me and was a little thin. Great first impression. A taster would have been the perfect amount for me. I am a big pussy though.
