From the 16 oz can in a snifter via Bluejacket74! Cheers Dude! This
solid little session stout pours a dark blackish brown with a very nice
head of tan foam that settles to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and shows some
very nice lacing. Nose of subtleties; coffee, dark chocolate, char, roast, and faint
dark fruits. Flavors nail it for the style. Dark coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits
or blackberry and raspberry, medium char, and dark roasted malts. Nice mouth
feel; medium mouth feel, medium light carbonation, and a roasted moderately
dry finish.
For a brewery to do an old standard very well bodes even better for bigger brews.
This one is a great session stout I would enjoy a case of....not in one sitting of course.
Cheers

16 ounce can, no dating on it but I purchased this at the taproom this past Saturday. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head that stuck around for a while. Lots of lacing, too. I like the aroma, the brew smells like roasted/burnt malt, coffee, and some dark chocolate. I think the taste pretty much follows the aroma, but there's the addition of a hint of dark fruitiness. Definitely a more roasty tasting brew. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought it was a good overall brew, but it was a little better tasting on tap though.
