Tasted in Kyrghyzstan, kegs delivered fron Omsk brewery. That's important: Korona is syndicated brewed at not less than 5 national & regional breweries, its quality varies.
Nice dark amber color, mighty wite head with a fair level of carbonation.
Smell malty-fruity, with an acidic note. Start fizzy, spicy, with an acidic dryness that doesn't leave you till finish. Body full, rich, lots of fruity yeast, mild hops also present. Mouthfeel a bit fizzy but very much acceptable for a beer consumed in a garden cafe after a hot day in Central Asia. Aftertaste long, fruity.

Tall thin-necked brown half liter bottle with a silver and blue label pointing out that this is a "new style". Ingredients include something called "fruity-glucose syrup." Best before 6/22/04, I opened it on 4/8/04.
Beautiful pour: clear, bubbly pale copper under a two finger off white head that shows real staying power, nice contour and very good lace. The nose is sweet/sour and a touch medicinal, reminiscent of such francophone classics as Leffe. The mouth is light and very prickly. The taste is strong with the sweet/sour typical of francophone brews. There's a bit of anise here, and maybe a touch of currant. The finish features a good, strong espresso like hoppy bite that quickly fades, leaving the aftertaste to the sweet fruitiness. Quite a nice product.
