Gold Medal Oktoberfest and Gold Medal Best German Beer at Cleveland Oktoberfest 2019! Brewed with German grown malted barley, this Märzen-style lager went through a double decoction mash to produce a rich malt profile and an amber-orange hue. Aromas of sweet bread crust and toast intermingle with moderately-dry malt flavor that fades to a crisp finish courtesy of a two month lagering period. Hopp, hopp, hopp, schoppe in de Kopp!

Canned on 8/31/20. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with great clarity and transparency with bubbles racing upwards; fluffy and creamy off-white head that falls leaving great retention and sticky frothy lacing. The aromas are on the mild and subtle side. Crackers and toast along with some hints of caramel. Malts are there. The flavors are pretty clean for the most part. Lots of caramel along with some hints of toffee. More toast. Moderate bitterness. Malts do their thing. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is very nice. It's on the lighter side of medium-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy and extremely smooth.
This is a great Oktoberfest. The aromas are pretty mild and forgettable, but who cares when everything else is hitting on all cylinders. The craftsmanship is on point. It's very smooth, enjoyable and fun to drink. Well done. It's definitely better than my "numerical score" indicates.

Shimmering gold with a large frothy uniform cream-white head and a persistent thick blanket that has a good curved ridge.
Smell is toasted corn bread.
Taste starts with sweet zucchini bread and Corn Pops which fades into faintly bitter allium and a fainter hint of floral pine with tangy burnt orange peel and toast on the exhale.
The carbonation makes for a pillowy body that finishes semi-dry.
