Pours a nice deep but clear gold color with very little head that disappears almost immediately. The smell is strong of barley, sweet grains and alcohol. The mouthfeel is sweet and a bit heavy. The taste is strong malt and a touch of sugar, with hops and alcohol coming on strong in the finish. The aftertaste is a nice combination of sweet alcohol and hops. Maybe I'm just in a good mood, but I liked this a lot more than I expected I would.
