This unfiltered brew comes out a nice cloudy gold with a medium-bodied white head that disappeared too quickly for a wheat. There were some nice lace rings around the glass, however. The nose was very yeasty, like a Hefeweizen. The mouthfeel was very tingly, like a wheat should be, but too thin to be Hefeweizen. The taste starts malty (but not yeasty), followed by a citrusy-sour finish. There is just a touch of hops in the aftertaste, but none of the typical freshness of a wheat. This beer struck me as somewhere between a Kristalweizen and a Hefeweizen. Rather fell between the stools, unfortunately.
