Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is coffee and band-aid (not bad). Taste is roasted malts/coffee and slightly bitter. Feel is dry stout with light mouthfeel. Overall it's good, not great, approachable stout.

DATE: July 19, 2019... OCCASION: enjoying a shore night at Point Pleasant with Juliana, Dominic, and the boys... GLASSWARE: Otto's pint... pours a cola-black body that opaquely supports a reasonably creamy brown head that settles to a halo... appropriate to its style... heavy, rich espresso bean hits initially, with chocolate and roasted bread malts also making for a strong aroma befitting the 7-plus ABV... the subtle secondary scents include light rye, vanilla, fudge, and briny sea salt... all in all, a solid combination... its first sip is medium-bodied, chewable and filling, with a hardened cola at the teeth, thick, almost molasses on the tongue, and a memorable glaze of roasted bean at the throat... for a beer this alcoholically substantial, quite an easy drinker.... the aroma is indeed the indicator of its flavor profile: big, rich coffee beans, toffee and cocoa akin to tootsie roll, heavy in the alcohol and sweet in its malts... this weds well with a hot night, surprisingly, as its sticky sweetness serves a dessertif of thick, lasting sugars... I meant to ask what the 5/4 represents--I may have to return before we leave, and pick up another beer along the way... this style is usually soft on ABV, so a stronger representation is welcome and savory...

On tap in a glass that looks like a beer can with a rim modeled after a Sam's perfect pint glass.
Black in color with reddish brown highlights ad a dark mocha head. Opaque. Modest lacing, some wisps and spots.
Dark roasted coffee.
The coffee flavor is strong, dark, and roasted. It's followed by bitter cocoa and a touch of alcohol.
Medium bodied with a dry cocoa finish.
I enjoyed it but I was looking for more depth. There's a lot of coffee.

On draft from the source over Labor Day weekend.
From notes:
Nice tan head over very dark brown body that lets virtually no light through. Nose of chocolate and coffee; not over the top and not too subtle. Close to perfect marriage of both in taste as well. Nice feel and overall, a nice break from IPA overload. Cheers!
