Poured chilled from can into a 16oz pint glass. Appearance is crystal clear amber-brown, almost reddish. Off-white finger of sudsy head. Nice lacing on the glass.
Aroma is malty, smoky, and yeasty bread.
Taste follows the nose with sweet malt, yeasty bread, biscuit, caramel notes, some faint smoke. There is a lingering 'tartness' which sort of works to help round this one out.
Mouthfeel is medium. There is suble bittering from the hops but leans sweet, true to the style. Fair carbonation to make it very consumable and smooth.
Overall I'm not even a huge fan of this style so I wasn't sure I was going to like it. 4-pack was given to me by a friend. Well, a good friend he be because I find myself enjoying this one. Decently crafted beer and true to the style.

Decent scotch ale.
Pours red with a medium white head. Aroma is smoky, malty and sweet. Taste is malty with a touch of smoky and biscuit. Feel is good, nice depth and smooth. Overall it's a decent scotch ale.
