look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5
I’m kind of guessing here as to style as this seemed more like a modern American style imperial stout than a bitter and roasty Russian one, but this was exceptionally well balanced and not overly sweet at all. I’m also guessing that was Bourbon barrel aged, simply by The flavor. The server didn’t know and the brewers were not around. In any event imagine my surprise and delight walking into a little island brewery in Iceland and finding a world class barrel aged stout on tap. This was elegant, rich and layered, and just all around delicious.
