Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of a tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of alcohol, roasted malt, sweet malt, slight wood, smoke, and a hint of vanilla. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of alcohol, roasted malt, sweet malt, slight wood, smoke, and a hint of vanilla. Overall, good appearance, blend, feel, and body.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a black color with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and spice. Taste of roasted malt, vanilla, chocolate with bit of spice. Slight bitterness and dry finish. Fairly full body, smooth and creamy. nicely balanced as it was not overly sweet. Easy drinker.
