Black in color with moderate light penetration. There’s a quarter inch of brown on top. Heavy, soapy lacing on my glass. Not much aroma and I am really trying to seek it out. I’m tasting pine and dark, faintly smoky malt. The mouth is smooth and approachable.

Very dark brown, almost black with ruby highlights and a respectable tan head and some nice lacing.
The aroma is dark roasted malt, cocoa and pine resin.
The taste is likewise dark roasted malt, char, dark chocolate, a bit of espresso. The finish is very dry with lingering pine, definite bitterness.
The body is medium, good carbonation, well hidden ABV, very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a brew with big flavor, needs to be paired with hearty or spicy food or just enjoyed for itself, very well done.

I love the nod to women's hockey in Blues and Blackhawks colors on the label. The beer is a dark brown, nearly black, color with a tall, firm, rocky, tan head. The aroma is reminiscent of baking cocoa, with maybe a little hard fruit candy underneath. Interesting. The taste is dryish, with a malt and coffee/dry chocolate flavor. Dry finish. Interesting and I liked it.

On tap. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of chocolate, pine and toffee. Sweet chocolate with a bitter piney bite.
