Poured on-tap into tall pint glass in Cairns.
A: Pours a clear golden yellow hue with high carbonation producing a 1 inch white head with excellent retention. The active carbonation jets continuously fuel the head.
S: Faint citrus and sweet caramel malt. Pretty weak.
T: Unfortunately a bit worse than aroma with some off notes.
M: Light body. Faintly sweet with no appreciable hop bite.
D: Unfortunately a dud, especially for style.

Poured from bottle into chilled pint glass
Looks: Nice clear copper colour with creamy head, nice lacing to the bottom of the glass
Smells: Malty, earthy, citrusy
Tastes: Malty up front with nice balance of earthy / citrusy hops
Feels: Fulfilling and refreshing.
Overall: Like a beer should taste, nice balance of malt and hops, with decent refreshing bitterness. Malty but not too sweet. Refreshing and Citrusy without tasting like you just drank lemon peel. 5.8%ABV, good bang for buck especially in the Land of Oz

Pleasant aroma when poured, mostly malts and something nutty but difficult to place. Pours a lovely dark amber in the glass with a light frothy head that thins but lasts. Some lacing. Feels light in the mouth with good carbonation. Taste is a refreshing bitter flavour with hops being prominent. I could drink this all day in the sun.

Bottled beer served in a pint glass.
Appearance -
Thick head and plenty of lacing. A dark copper/orange colour. Lots of carbonation and small bubbles. Quite an attractive beer.
Smell -
Mostly hops with floral, spicey and earthy notes. A hint of pine, orange peel and wood.
Taste -
Earthy hop bitterness, grapefruit and a dry, bitter finish. Grapefruit aftertaste and lingering bitterness. Underlying malt sweetness. A bit on the mild side, especially for an IPA.
Mouthfeel -
Mild fizz, bite on the way down, not much froth, a clean dry feel and moderate body.
Overall -
Easy to drink, tastes good and a decent IPA. Lacking a bit of character to stand out from the crowd though and a little bit sedate. I'd pick the Vale every time for the same money.
