Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear deep golden color with a small head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading and leaving a decent level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strongest of a caramel and bready smell mixed with notes of toffee and crème. Along with these smells comes a bit of honey and notes of grain.
Taste - The taste begins with a sweet caramel and honey flavor mixed with some bread and a bit of dough and biscuit. At the same time there is a bit of apple and pear, along with some light notes of herb and earth. The hop is very light, just adding a backdrop. As the taste advances the sweet gets slightly more intense, while the hop and bread fade a bit, leaving one with a sweet, but easy natured taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is light and thin with a higher level of carbonation.
Overall – A rather nice sweeter brew with a touch of hop and an easy drinking nature.
