Taster at brewery. Dark brown pour. Small bubbly beige head. Roasty, nutty aroma follows all the way through to the taste. Mild bitterness, malty, bready.

perhaps the best beer i have had from these guys to date. its smooth and mellow in texture, silky even, lightly carbonated but its enough, its roasty and full feeling, with good dark depth, a hint of coffee, but a lot of middle malt space too, raisin and tobacco come to mind, good layers here, a touch sweet but thats okay, and for the first time in one of their beers for me, a fermentation profile that enhances rather than detracts from the experience, its bready and sort of english to me, marries in beautifully with the grain, and moves toward dry at the end. hints of cola, rum, and fig in the mix as well, and honestly this has pretty good complexity for what appears to be a pretty simple porter from a recipe standpoint. i like the softness this has, the way it warms up, and its sort of rustic old worldy nature, not overly refined but it doesnt need to be. a great fall and winter drinker, i could have stayed for several pints of this one. if you havent checked out their new twin falls space, get in there, its rad!
