I had this on tap at Green Cheek in Costa Mesa in March 2024 and found it to be an excellent example of a dunkel. Deep red-brown, it had a lasting tan head. Aroma was rich dark bread, hints of caramelised fruit. Taste very nice dark bread, hints of caramelised barley, toast, and wet wood Nice full-bodied, well-rounded character. Pretty well balanced, and although leaning slightly to sweet side, that backs off in the finish with a subtle zesty bitterness underneath.

Dark things. Dark dreams… The world can be cold, or even worse, you can be. But right here, the only cold and dark thing is my beer. And I’m cool with that. It may not impress like a a bear on a tricycle (just kidding, get em, PETA!). But it lubes the liver well.
